When Sabbats Actually Are VS. When People Believe They Are
When you do research on the dates of Sabbats, you usually get (incorrect) specific dates like these (for The Northern Hemisphere):
Yule/Midwinter/Winter Solstice : December 20-23
Imbolc: February 1-2
Ostara: March 19-21
Beltane: April 30-May 1
Litha/Midsummer/Summer Solstice: June 20-22
Lughnasadh/Harvest Home/Lammas: August 1-2
Mabon/Autumn Equinox: September 21-24
Samhain (pronounced Sow - in): October 31-November 1
As well-intended as the writers of those dates are - the truth is: Sabbats happen at specific places in the Zodiac - when the Sun is either at 0 degrees (solstices & equinoxes) or 15 degrees (the midpoint Sabbats).
You might think that must fall in the range of the dates above, but it doesn’t.
Last year, Samhain was November 7th. Imbolc was February 4th.
To truly harness the full power of those special times when the veil is the thinnest and magic the strongest - you need to know this.
I hope you enjoyed this bit of knowledge today. Now, you can celebrate Sabbats and harness their best energy when it’s truly available to you.
Blessed be,
Kayla
